Change of Details
World Environment Day, established by the United Nations, is celebrated annually on June 5th. It provides an opportunity to focus global attention on pressing environmental challenges and encourages individuals and communities to take proactive steps towards environmental conservation. World Environment Day aims to inspire positive change and foster a sense of responsibility towards our natural surroundings.
St Brigid's Primary School Ballan wishes to acknowledge respectfully the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work, learn, play and gather.
On Sunday, St Brigid’s students Noah Cassar, Alice Fodor, Maeve Lakey and Ruby Tatchell, along with fellow candidates, celebrated the sacrament of Confirmation at St Brigid's Church. A big thank you to Fr Justin, Therese Winter and the Parish of Gordon for their dedication in preparing and organising this special occasion.
National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
National Reconciliation Week (NRW) started as the Week of Prayer for Reconciliation in 1993 (the International Year of the World’s Indigenous Peoples) and was supported by Australia’s major faith communities. In 1996, the Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation launched Australia’s first National Reconciliation Week. In 2001, Reconciliation Australia was established to continue to provide national leadership on reconciliation. In the same year, approximately 300,000 people walked across Sydney Harbour Bridge as part of National Reconciliation Week-and subsequently across bridges in cities and towns-to show their support for reconciliation.
Today, National Reconciliation Week is celebrated in workplaces, schools and early learning services, community organisations and groups, and by individuals Australia-wide.

A student free day will take place this Friday 6th June. On this day staff will continue a three-year participation in Reframing Learning and Teaching Environments ReLATE). ReLATE is a research and evidence informed model supporting schools to create the preconditions for improved teaching, learning and wellbeing. ReLATE was developed in Australia by MacKillop Family Services, drawing on the practice model implemented in our schools and delivered by The MacKillop Institute.
Within ReLATE, wellbeing is understood as an essential precondition for quality teaching and learning. Safe, predictable and supportive learning environments are created and maintained in classrooms where students are not just known, but deeply understood.
Camp Australia is open for bookings on this day if care is required.
Congratulations to our students who have participated in the Sovereign Winter Sports throughout the last month. Sports included Soccer, AFL and Netball. Our students demonstrated collaboration, perseverance, resilience and teamwork. We are so proud of you!
We have now made the transition to winter uniform. Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct winter uniform daily.
Children are required to continue to wear the correct sports uniform each Tuesday and Wednesday. Given the nature of Physical Education lessons, on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s children can wear either correct sports shorts/skorts or track pants.
Community Feedback
We are seeking feedback from our school community as we explore the possibilities in relation to our St Brigid's School Uniform from 2026 and beyond. Your input is valuable in helping us make an informed and community-minded decision.
Please take a moment to complete the following brief survey.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as all funds raised contribute to resources and materials to support your children in their holistic development.
Suzanne Beaver will again be at St Brigids every Tuesday this year.
Suzanne is available for individual sessions with children. Common issues addressed are managing strong emotions, self esteem, friendship issues, anxiety, and family challenges such as illness, grief and separation.
Suzanne is also available for individual sessions with parents. Topics can include a range of parenting challenges, i.e. managing strong emotions, school reluctance, helping your child form strong friendships, and helping your child to navigate family separation.
Suzanne can also assist you in finding the right external support for your child and family.
This is a great service provided right here at school. Please don't hesitate to contact Suzanne with any concerns you might have. Contact Suzanne by phone on a Tuesday or by email any day sbeaver@sbballan.catholic.edu.au.
