Change of Details
On Thursday 11th May, our P&F will be facilitating a Mother’s Day Stall. On this day, children are invited to bring $5 to school to purchase a gift for their mums, grandmothers or special people in their lives.
A big thank you to Mickal Trinder and Hayley Plageman for organising and facilitating our Mother’s Day Stall.
On Friday 12th May, we are excited to welcome mothers, grandmothers and special people in our lives to our Mother’s Day Breakfast and Liturgy. We will commence our celebration with breakfast from 8:30am in the Gathering Space. As this breakfast is for mothers, grandmothers and special people, children can be dropped off to school from 8:30am as per usual. Following breakfast, our Liturgy will commence at 9:00am at St Brigid’s church and will be attended by the whole school.
Wishing our mothers and special women in our lives a very happy Mother’s Day for Sunday!
Throughout the last two years, Big Childcare has provided out of school hours care for many children at St Brigid’s. We really appreciate the service that Big Childcare has provided to our children and families and we have valued our partnership with them and the professionalism and dedication of their staff.
At the end of this term our partnership with Big Childcare will conclude and at the beginning of Term 3, we will welcome KidsCo to St Brigid’s to commence Before School Care and After School Care and in the September holidays, Vacational Care. Further information will be circulated within the coming weeks.
We have now transitioned to winter uniform. Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct winter uniform to school each day including bringing the St Brigid’s school bag to and from school daily.
Children are able to wear sports uniform each Wednesday and on classroom nominated sports day as directed by your child’s classroom teacher. Given the nature of Physical Education lessons, on Wednesday’s children can wear either correct sports shorts or pants.
We are currently exploring options regarding tracksuit pants, sport shorts and rain coats. More details to follow regarding these items.
Hot lunches will resume again this week via the online ordering system - Spriggy Schools.
Please see the brochure for information regarding the Spriggy Schools App.
Volunteers
This term we will re-introduce a roster to help prepare and serve lunches on each Friday. If you are available to help out on a Friday between 11.30am-1.00pm please contact the school office (valid Working with Children Check is required).
The children really enjoy hot lunches and this can only happen with the help of volunteers!
This term, we will be introducing Spelling Mastery for all students in Years 2-6. This comprehensive spelling program is designed to assist students with mastering the skills of spelling, vocabulary, and word usage.
Spelling Mastery is a research-based program developed by McGraw-Hill Education and is widely used in schools across Australia. The program has been shown to improve students' spelling abilities and increase their vocabulary and word usage skills.
We believe that Spelling Mastery will be an excellent addition to our curriculum, and we are excited to see the benefits it will bring to our students.
Further information regarding the Spelling Mastery program at St Brigid’s will be circulated via PAM later this week.
This term, assemblies will continue to take place fortnightly on Friday afternoons from 2:30pm in the Multipurpose Room. Each class will be rostered on to present a small item at assembly (see below).
