Change of Details
Restore our spirits.
Renew our passion for sharing your wisdom
And nurture our compassion
for those in need of greater support.
Transform us as we seek to transform:
Guide us as we seek to guide;
Open our minds and hearts
As we seek to open minds and hearts
To the Good News of justice and peace.
Help us to listen deeply
To the world and to your Word,
So we can walk with those in our care,
Attentive to the Wisdom that
Calls us all to the Kingdom of God.
Amen
St Brigid's Primary School Ballan wishes to acknowledge respectfully the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work, learn, play and gather. We pay respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.
Dear Members of our St Brigid’s Community,
Welcome to Term 3! We hope you all had a fantastic break and are ready for an exciting and productive term filled with learning, growth, and wonderful experiences. It was wonderful to witness the beaming smiles and enthusiastic energy of our students as they entered through the school gates this morning.

As communicated last term, Ricky Whitcher has been appointed to the role of Behaviour Support Practitioner through Ready Steady Achieve to commence in Week 3. Ricky’s final day at St Brigid’s will be Friday 21st July 2023. This is a very exciting new chapter in Ricky’s career and we wish him all the best in his new position.
During his time at St Brigid’s, Ricky has made many valuable contributions to our team and our school as a whole. His hard work and dedication is greatly appreciated. Ricky’s child centred approach, positive attitude and passion for education in general is commendable. Ricky’s presence will certainly be missed at St Brigid’s.
We also send our best wishes to Karen Tiley who will commence Long Service Leave from Week 3 for the remainder of Term 3 and beginning of Term 4. We can’t wait to hear all about Karen’s adventures upon her return!
A very warm welcome to Sharon Rex who will join us as a Learning Support Officer this term. We also welcome Alexander Cauchi and Ivan Jerrin to our St Brigid's school community, and their families. Alexander will join Year 3/4 and Ivan will join Year F/1 classrooms.
A big welcome to Josh and the team from KidsCo who have commenced as our new OSHC provider.
I look forward to seeing you all this week!
Take care and God bless,
Jayne Bosworth

3-Way Conferences will take place this term on Tuesday 1st August from 2:30pm - 6:00pm and Tuesday 8th August from 1:30pm - 5:00pm. 3-Way Conferences will be 10 minutes in duration. Given the nature of these meetings, it would be wonderful if all students could attend with parents. All families can book a suitable time through PAM/SIMON Everywhere. Bookings will be made available from Tuesday 18th July.
Mr Whitcher will make contact with his students' parents directly via Seesaw to make booking times as Year 5/6W 3-Way Conferences are being held next week.
If you need any assistance with making a booking please contact Jodie in the office.
We have now transitioned to full winter uniform. Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct winter uniform to school each day including bringing the St Brigid’s school bag to and from school daily.
Children are able to wear sports uniform each Wednesday and on classroom nominated sports day as directed by your child’s classroom teacher. Given the nature of Physical Education lessons, on Wednesday’s children can wear either correct sports shorts or pants.
We are currently exploring options regarding tracksuit pants, sport shorts and rain coats. More details to follow regarding these items.
Hot lunches are up and running via the online ordering system - Spriggy Schools.
Please see the brochure for information regarding the Spriggy Schools App.
Volunteers
This term we will re-introduce a roster to help prepare and serve lunches on each Friday. If you are available to help out on a Friday between 11.30am-1.00pm please contact the school office (valid Working with Children Check is required).
The children really enjoy hot lunches and this can only happen with the help of volunteers!
This Semester, we are very excited to welcome families back to our fortnightly assemblies in the Multipurpose Room. Each fortnight a class will present a small item at assembly (please refer to timetable below). We look forward to seeing you at our assemblies!!

Yesterday, we welcomed KidsCo to St Brigid’s. KidsCo will facilitate Before School Care, After School Care and in the September holidays, Vacational Care - we are so excited!
Each year since 1945 the CBCA has brought children and books together across Australia through Children's Book Week. During this time schools and public libraries spend one glorious week celebrating books and Australian children's authors and illustrators. Classroom teachers, teacher librarians and public librarians create colourful displays, develop activities, run competitions and tell stories relating to a theme to highlight the importance of reading.
This year, Book Week will take place from Saturday 19th August to Friday 25th August with the theme, ‘READ, GROW, INSPIRE’. Further information regarding Book Week celebrations at St Brigid’s will be communicated in our Week 3 Newsletter.
All of the timetabled events (to date) for the school year can be found on our school calendar which can be accessed through PAM and via this newsletter.
